Hosted by the J.F. Glidden Homestead & Historical Center, Barb City's Barbed Wire Weekend will be a celebration of our local history, and at the same time, we are welcoming barbed wire collectors to DeKalb from across the country! Events include a two-day barbed wire collector expo at NIU's Altgeld Hall (held in partnership with the nationwide Antique Barbed Wire Society,) and a barbed wire sites bus tour. The exhibition at Altgeld will not only feature historic barbed wire collections, but educational booths about the local history and innovation of Glidden's creation - from hairpins to grindstones to machinery! There will be something for everyone.
