Business Development Specialist
The Financial Education and Community Outreach Specialist will primarily work in the DeKalb/Ogle County area with a focus on driving credit union growth and strengthening the RVCU brand. There may also be events or educational responsibilities in other counties. This role is centered on building partnerships with local organizations, providing financial education, and fostering relationships that support the credit union’s mission and growth objectives. Key responsibilities include engaging with local businesses and community groups to form strategic alliances, presenting financial education sessions tailored to the community's needs, and promoting RVCU’s products and services. The specialist will also attend, plan, and organize community events as an RVCU representative, actively network to establish meaningful connections that lead to membership growth, and contribute to RVCU’s strategic plan to expand its presence, grow membership, and enhance brand recognition within the DeKalb/Ogle County area.

Essential Job Functions
· Collaboration: Collaborates with the Director of Marketing and Community Relations and the Business Development Specialist (BDS) in discussions and strategies relevant to RVCU’s marketing and business development. Participates in providing the marketing team with business development growth strategies specific to the DeKalb/Ogle County area to help achieve the credit union’s goals and objectives. Participates and collaborates in meetings and discussions with RVCU’s financial coaches for financial presentations.
· Projects and Assignments: Partners with other businesses, communities, and key stakeholders to grow membership deposits and loans. Plans and facilitates financial education workshops, presentations, or lunch and learns with local businesses and community groups, including overseeing and promoting organizational financial education efforts. Plans and coordinates events to network with local connections and the community. Identifies opportunities for achieving RVCU’s business goals. Responsible for completing goals/rocks/assignments timely and efficiently.
· Focus on Purpose/Mission: Focused on the credit union’s purpose of making a positive impact on others, and RVCU’s mission to educate members and the community, build deeper relationships, and provide exceptional service – all of which contribute to credit union growth.
· Business and Brand Development: Visits various companies and businesses to create and maintain relationships and facilitates financial education presentations that promote financial wellbeing. Represents and organizes various community events to actively promote the credit union. Develops and implements strategies for membership, loan, and deposit growth.
· Core Process, Policies, and Procedures: Responsible for following marketing and credit union processes, policies, procedures, and regulations.
· Community Advocate: Serves as a representative of the credit union and is actively and routinely visible and involved in the community.

Requirements
· Education equivalent to bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field or equivalent experience
· Experience equivalent to 2-5 years marketing or business development related experience
· Experience in financial services industry preferred
· Obtain FiCep Certification within 1 year of employment
