Sr. Electrical Controls Engineer:

Position Summary: Work under the direction of the project managers to create electrical drawings and approval packages as well as basic programming tasks. Field checkout of electronic control panels and other equipment. Provide customer support during start up as well as troubleshooting. Manage control/system projects from estimating through engineering and installation/commissioning.

Principal Responsibilities:
Create well documented approval packages that include Sequence of operations, Front panel layouts, Equipment and I/O lists
Specify Components and Create Electrical Designs for Control Panels
Use E Plan and Draftsight software to create production ready drawings
Conduct in-house checkout of completed systems
Assist Production Technicians as needed with installation of components
Assist and Direct Associate Engineering Staff for projects on which Project Management duties have been assigned.
Write detailed instruction manual for completed project
Programming Allen Bradley PLC (ControlLogix, CompactLogix), VFDs, Soft Starters
Programming Factory Talk Studio and Factory Talk View
HMI and PC programming
Follow UL 508A, NEC, and NFPA standards in Industrial Control designs
Communicate and request technical information with vendors and customers
Research new technology available in market
Assist customers with onsite and phone troubleshooting and system start up.

Knowledge, Education or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineer or related field
Experience with Allen Bradley hardware including PLC, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, VFD, and Soft Starters
Experience with Rockwell Software products including RSLogix, Factory Talk Studio
Experienced in E-plan and Draftsight (or AutoCAD) Software
Some exposure to structured text programming
Proficiency in understanding and following UL 508A, NEC, and NFPA Standards in regards to Industrial Control Panel Design.
UL MTR certified or willing to become certified.
