Banner Up Signs was founded in 1986 by Ed Kuhn. The retail outlet was located in Geneva, Illinois. Originally starting as a producer of paper banners, the business quickly grew to include vinyl graphics. By the mid 90’s, our business established itself through great customer service and quality products.

In 1996, Ed opened a second location in his hometown of Sycamore, Illinois. The new facility was designed and built for sign production and fabrication, thus accommodating a better production work flow. Also, indoor space was now availble to vehicle installation.

Both locations saw an increase in production, and over the years, more equipment was added. In 2003, the Geneva location, no longer efficient for production, was closed. All production was transferred to the modern Sycamore facility

At the same time, Ed’s son, Jon, was finishing his education and increased his involvement in the business. Jon’s introduction of wide format, full color graphics in the mid 2000’s allowed Banner Up to broaden the amount of products we offer through in-house production. With this on-site state-of-the-art equipment, greater control of the quality and scheduling could be maintained. In 2012, with the improvements in non-solvent based inks, Banner Up installed a new eco-friendly latex printer.

Over the years, Banner Up has been able to work with a wide range of industries from small mom and pop businesses to large international corporations and has proved to be a reliable partner to our clients.

In 2014, Banner Up saw its horizons broadened with the opening of their newly expanded facility. The additional workspace allowed for better client interaction and a climate-controlled installation bay for larger vehicles.
