Our all-inclusive independent living environment is home to active seniors, 62+, who no longer want the responsibilities of home ownership. Barb City Manor is located in the historic Joseph F. Glidden and Jacob F. Haish hospital in DeKalb, Illinois, with the accessibility of downtown just six blocks away. Studio and one-bedroom apartments in our secure four-story building offer privacy; while lounges, sunrooms, and common areas provide the opportunity to socialize with friends and family. Our apartments are equipped with help buttons in each room in case of emergency. Staff on duty 24 hours per day for security and peace of mind. Our handicapped accessible building has 3 elevators and a wheelchair lift for easy access to all areas. Residents can stay physically fit in our exercise room, look their best with visits to our in-house hair salon, eat healthy in our restaurant style dining room, and enjoy a variety of activities and socials.
